About

PWITS (Psych Ward In The Sky) is a dark yaoi/BL visual novel, written, drawn and coded by @ultratrashdog (yours truly).

It's a story mostly told from the point of view of Senj, a 24-year-old trans man, who falls in love with a new prisoner - who just arrived at the correctional facility.

But it's not only about him and his lilac-haired crush; simultaneously there are 4 other "love" stories happening all across the space station...

The visual novel covers the topics of love, passion, obsession, life in confinement, mental health/issues, death and many more, mostly "dark" issues. It has some black humor, too.

If you want to support the future of PWITS, consider joining the Patreon (to support me directly) or buy merch at my Redbubble shop (I get a percentage of sales).

Q&A zone

1. Is PWITS a trans yaoi series?

Yes, there are two transgender (ftm, transmasc, men) characters in Psych Ward In The Sky: Senj, the main character and Iao "Fox" Tuiren, a supporting character.

2. Where to read Psych Ward In The Sky?

This itch.io page and the official website (www.psych-ward-in-the-sky.com) are the only places where you can play PWITS.  If you see it copied in any other place and/or published from an account that is not official; please report it!

I work really hard on writing, drawing and coding this novel, and I am just one person.

Please respect it and don't steal my work, as it's both illegal and pretty rude.

But, if you would want to collaborate or have a business inquiry, you can drop me a message.

3. Is Psych Ward In The Sky a comic?

PWITS is a visual novel game with a linear plot and no choice options, unlike a traditional VN.

4. Is PWITS novel finished?

No, Psych Ward In The Sky is an ongoing series, which is updated weekly and was first published on 01.10.2024.

5. What genre is PWITS visual novel?

It is a yaoi (gay romance with erotical aspects) series, with elements or horror, sci-fi, fantasy and psychological fiction.

Player discretion is highly advised, as the story depicts life in a psych ward / prison facility and touches the sensitive topics of mental health (various mental disorders, disability, trauma, grief, loss) and many more, including graphic descriptions and body horror. In a way you can call it a "doomed yaoi".

6. How to read Psych Ward In The Sky VN?

You can read/play through the story by selecting a chapter from the list. Then, after confirming that you are a legal adult, you can immerse in this messed up BL (boys love, danmei, yaoi) story with a trans man main character.

There's also an optional autoplay feature, so you don't have to tap through all the dialogues manually. If you prefer to read at your own pace just click or tap the screen instead - or press spacebar, if you're playing on a PC or a laptop. Have fun!

7. On what device can I read the story?

Enjoy playing and reading PWITS chapters on your favourite device. The gameplay is optimized and adjusted to looks good on different sizes of screens and landscape or portrait orientation.

Although, if you are using a phone with small screen, it will probably be more comfortable to read in landscape orientation!
